Shauna Mason
President & Director
Shauna Mason is President and Director of the Altalma Foundation and is passionate about strengthening communities through philanthropy, volunteerism, and good governance. She believes that meaningful change is achieved through collaboration, thoughtful leadership, and a commitment to giving back.
Shauna has dedicated countless hours to supporting charitable and professional not-for-profit organizations. She currently serves as a Director of Energy for All, Gems for Gems, and the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) – Alberta Chapter, and recently served as Chair of the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (CGIC) – Alberta Branch. Through these volunteer leadership roles, she helps organizations strengthen governance, build strategic capacity, and maximize their impact within the communities they serve.
With more than two decades of governance and leadership experience, Shauna brings strategic oversight and a collaborative approach to the Altalma Foundation. She is committed to advancing the Foundation’s mission by supporting initiatives that improve lives, create opportunities, and foster stronger, more resilient communities.
Shauna holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (FCG).

Jeremy Yee
Director
Jeremy Yee is a Director of the Altalma Foundation and is passionate about creating opportunities that strengthen communities through collaboration, leadership, and sustainable philanthropy. He believes meaningful impact is achieved by building strong partnerships, empowering local leaders, and investing in initiatives that create lasting social and economic benefits.
Jeremy has dedicated his career and volunteer efforts to advancing community development, Indigenous partnerships, and charitable initiatives both in Canada and internationally. Beyond his role with the Altalma Foundation, he serves as a mentor for students in the Petroleum Land Management program at the University of Calgary and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen Mentorship Program. He also volunteers as a minor hockey coach, helping young athletes develop confidence, leadership, and teamwork both on and off the ice.
Jeremy has a longstanding commitment to global philanthropy. He participated in a fundraising expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, helping raise $300,000 to build a secondary school and women’s dormitory in Tanzania—an experience that reinforced his belief in the power of community-led initiatives to create lasting change.
Jeremy holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Calgary. He brings strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and a collaborative approach to the Altalma Foundation, supporting its mission to improve lives and strengthen communities through sustainable charitable initiatives.

“Altalma”. A soaring name that blends 'Alta', meaning high, with the name 'Alma', meaning kind soul. Altalma’s values can be summarized by using the word SOUL. We value:

Altalma Foundation supports community-led initiatives that create lasting impact at home and abroad. Altalma Foundation Partners with Local Youth Hockey Team to Support Community Impact
• At Altalma Foundation, we believe that investing in young people extends far beyond the classroom. Whether through education, sport, leadership, or community service, we are committed to helping youth develop the confidence, resilience, and character needed to become tomorrow’s leaders.
• This spring, we were proud to partner with the Crusaders 2014 AAA hockey team as they took on the Servus Calgary Marathon 5K. For many of the players, it was their very first road race, providing an opportunity to challenge themselves while giving back to their community.
• Together, the team set an ambitious goal of raising CA$10,000 in support of the Altalma Foundation. Through the generosity of friends, family, and community members, the campaign has already raised more than CA$9,170, with funds supporting Altalma’s charitable initiatives that strengthen communities and create opportunities for youth and families in need.
• The partnership exemplifies our belief that philanthropy begins with leadership, teamwork, and service. By encouraging young athletes to become active contributors to their communities, we are helping foster values that extend well beyond the playing field.
We are incredibly grateful to every participant, volunteer, and donor who helped make this initiative such a success and look forward to continuing to inspire the next generation of community leaders.
